<p>For many years, Penrite Racing has celebrated touring car history with eye-catching retro liveries at the Sandown 500.</p> <p>At the 2024 Penrite Oil Sandown 500, Penrite Racing unveiled a striking blue “Brut 33” livery in tribute to racing legend Allan Moffat. Originally seen on the Ford Falcon XB GT that claimed victory in the 1974 Sandown Endurance Race, this iconic design looked equally spectacular on the Gen3 Ford Mustang GT Supercar.</p> <p>The bold blue livery features classic red and white stripes, the Australian flag, and retro Penrite logos adorning the car, making it a standout on the track. This model is a must-have addition to any collection.</p> <p>This 1:43 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high quality sealed body die-cast with clear windows, detailed racing cockpit and undercarriage details unique to the Gen3 floorpan.</p> <p>Comprised of roughly 65 individual metal and plastic parts plus anywhere between 50-100 steps in paint and decoration finishing, this is a high quality collectors model for fans of this scale.</p> <p>It will come in an exclusive one-off limited edition, presented in a display case with the model attached to a white base plate which features the car details printed on it. <p>The Holden Racing Team without doubt holds a special place in the heart of many red-blooded Australian motorsport fans.<br><br>From 1989 to 2016, HRT raced a variety of famous Commodores across Australia and on occasion, internationally. With the iconic Holden lion and helmet motif ever evolving and sprawling down the sides of their cars, they were the all conquering, unmistakable Holden factory team for a long time and boast a storied history.<br><br>2014 was the second year of racing the VF Commodore platform for the Holden Racing Team in what was Holden's 45th year of factory involvement in Australian motorsport, so their cars needed to reflect the prestigious nature of being the offical factory backed squad. And they did.<br><br>The striking day-glo red used in the livery and wheels worked in perfect unison with the white body and silver lion and helmet motif which was now featured on the front doors again. With Mobil 1 on the bonnet and stylised car numbers on the roof, the 2014 HRT livery was a real standout and sits among their best looks during this era.<br><br>At the Bathurst 1000 the #22 HRT Commodore boasted an impressive driver line up with 2010 series champion James Courtney and 4-time race winner Greg Murphy sharing the duties behind the wheel. It would be Murphy's last appearance at Bathurst racing a Holden Racing Team Commodore, the team he famously won Bathurst with in 1996 alongside Craig Lowndes. <p>A new era began in 2023 when Gen3 Supercars were introduced to race in the Supercars Championship.<br><br>A significant evolution from the previous Gen2 platform, the Gen3 rules implemented a raft of changes for the Ford Mustang GT Supercar in 2023, with a large focus on achieving a much closer visual connection to its road going counterpart, more controlled parts and less downforce to encourage greater racing.<br><br></p> <p>In his second season in the full time seat with Walkinshaw Andretti United, Nick Percat’s 2023 #2 Mobil 1 NTI backed Mustang featured a stunning, crisp livery with silver and black stripes on a white base. It looked really sensational, with this season livery based on the Sydney SuperNight round where the team celebrated their 30 year partnership with Mobil with a stylised bonnet design.</p> <p>This 1:18 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high quality die-cast with opening parts which includes the bonnet and both the driver and passenger doors.<br><br>A highly detailed racing cockpit can be seen through the molded clear glasshouse, or by opening the doors to examine the interior further. Under the bonnet includes a detailed 5.4-litre Coyote quad overhead cam V8 and engine bay surround.
