<p>In 2024, Ford globally celebrated 60 Years of Mustang. </p> <p>Since 1964, more than 10 million Mustangs have been sold across seven generations and the iconic sports car has become a phenom of popular culture and media.</p> <p>Perhaps more significantly for racing fans, the Mustang has also enjoyed a storied motorsport record both internationally and locally. It achieved its first victory in the Tour de France Automobile in its first year on sale and is widely reported to have won its first circuit race anywhere in the world at the hands of Norm Beechey at Calder Park Raceway here in Australia in 1965.</p> <p>Beechey also won the 1965 Australian Touring Car Championship that year, kicking off a run of five consecutive championships for Mustang with Ian Geoghegan taking out the next four between 1966 to 1969.</p> <p>Since then, the Mustang has continued to win the hearts and minds of fans while recording significant victories and championships in a variety of racing categories around the world.</p> <p>With the above in mind, we were honoured when Ford encouraged us to design a special limited edition Gen3 Mustang collectors model to celebrate the milestone.</p> <p>Designed by Tristan Groves for Authentic Collectables and Ford Performance, Tristan has created a livery which takes the official 60 Years of Mustang logo by Ford and other notable branding elements to create a very unique collectable.</p> <p>The various striping patterns which make up the base of the livery have been inspired by the history of Mustang and the offical 60 years logo. Those elements, combined with asymmetrical design characteristics, the menacing black pony on the sides, the number 60, Ford branding and red, white, black and deep blue colour scheme form an absolutely jaw-dropping livery.</p> <p>This 1:18 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high quality die-cast with opening parts which includes the bonnet and both the driver and passenger doors.</p> <p>A highly detailed racing cockpit can be seen through the molded clear glasshouse, or by opening the doors to examine the interior further. Under the bonnet includes a detailed 5.4-litre Coyote quad overhead cam V8 and engine bay surround. <p>Nick Percat was one of many drivers who participated in the driver merry-go-round of team changes for the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship Season, leaving Walkinshaw Andretti United to join Matt Stone Racing.</p> <p>Percat’s #10 Chevrolet Camaro, with backing from Bendix, features a fresh livery for 2024. It combines a light blue, black and white colour scheme with a dynamic graphics package and it really stands out, with this model set to be replicated based on the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix round where he won Race 6 of the championship at the Melbourne SuperSprint, his first win for the team.</p> <p>This 1:43 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high quality sealed body die-cast with clear windows, detailed racing cockpit and undercarriage details unique to the Gen3 floorpan.</p> <p>Comprised of roughly 65 individual metal and plastic parts plus anywhere between 50-100 steps in paint and decoration finishing, this is a high quality collectors model for fans of this scale.</p> <p>It is scheduled to be produced in an exclusive one-off limited edition, presented in a display case with the model attached to a white base plate which features the car details printed on it. <p>After passing the 400 race starts milestone last year, Tim Slade returns to the PremiAir Racing outfit as part of an unchanged driver line to contest the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship.</p><p>Slade’s #23 Nulon backed Camaro looks similar to his 2023 challenger given it’s black base and the red and white colour scheme, but there are nice updates to the livery, most notably the new graphics on the bonnet and sides of the car.</p><p>With an unchanged driver line-up and race car package, the biggest change for this team will be the inclusion of gun engineer Ludo Lacroix. Time will ultimately tell if he can help to accelerate this team’s lofty goals and climb up the championship standings in 2024 and beyond.</p><p>Regardless, the Nulon Camaros look aggressive at the very least, with this model set to be replicated based on the season-opening Thrifty Bathurst 500 round.</p><p>This 1:18 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high quality die-cast with opening parts which includes the bonnet and both the driver and passenger doors.</p><p>A highly detailed racing cockpit can be seen through the molded clear glasshouse, or by opening the doors to examine the interior further.
