Classic Carlectables 18749 E38 R/T Charger Vitamin C

121.00 $

The Valiant Charger was released in August 1971, two months after the release of the VH Valiant sedan and wagon. Its striking style made an instant impression. It was the right car at the right time and it had the benefit of one of Australia’s most successful television advertising campaigns.
The normal Charger was available with a choice of ‘Hemi’ six-cylinder engines in 215, 245 and 265 cubic inch capacities, or 318 and 360 V8s. The high performance R/T was also offered with the ‘Six Pack’, a 265 with triple Weber 45DCOE carburettors and full exhaust extractors. At the time, these features had only been seen on European exotica such as Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa-Romeo. Even the ‘Six Pack’ came in two versions; the E37, which had stump-pulling torque at low revolutions, and the E38 which was tuned for maximum top-end power.
The E38 engine was the heart of the competition version of the Charger, based on the R/T. This was the Track Pack, which added stiffer suspension, dual-plate clutch, a close ratio three-speed gearbox, a limited-slip differential with a choice of ratios, track-optimised non boosted brakes with adjustable front to rear proportioning valve and finned rear drums. It was also fitted with a quicker 16:1 steering box and with adjustable rear spring hangers to allow suspension settings to suit different tracks.
Item includes certificate with individual production number.

Classic Carlectables 18714 1/18 Holden HZ GTS Jasmine Yellow

116.00 $

The HZ series was launched in October 1977 and represents the best of the Holden GTS range, the last of the US inspired “big body” Holdens. Subsequent Holdens would now follow European styling and engineering, evident by the behind scenes work gearing up for the most drastic model shift ever, the launch of the Commodore in 1978. The HZ brought remarkable advances in ride and handling with the introduction of Radial Tuned Suspension, delivering a Holden that tamed local road conditions better than any before with road straightening, precise handling and better stability under braking. While the Radial Tuned Suspension (RTS) had its biggest impact on the GTS, many more appointments helped to make it more of a stand-alone package, including four quartz halogen head lamps, mesh grille, colour-coded front and rear spoilers and bumpers and subtle body stripes and detailing on optioned-up versions. The HZ GTS initially was offered as a 4.2 V8, but was dropped in April 1978 when power steering became standard. So Holden’s classic 308ci (5.0 litre) became the power source. The interior featured further special treatment including revised instruments, tartan plaid cloth on the classy contoured bucket seats and a sports steering wheel. The five spoke, colour-coded, pressed steel rims also became a GTS option for the HZ.

Item includes certificate with individual production number.

Specification

Scale: 1:18

Type: Road Cars

Limited Edition Quantity: 550
