<p>The 2004 Bathurst 1000 was won by Greg Murphy and Rick Kelly, driving the Kmart Racing Team Holden VY Commodore. Held on 10 October at the famous Mount Panorama Circuit in New South Wales, the victory marked Murphy’s fourth Bathurst win and Kelly’s second, as well as their second win in a row as a driver pairing.</p> <p>Although Murphy didn’t repeat his famous 2003 “Lap of the Gods” shootout performance, the pair still started the 2004 race from a very respectable fourth on the grid. <p>When Kiwi young gun Scott McLaughlin was recruited to drive the famous #17 Shell V-Power Ford FG X Falcon for DJR Team Penske in the Supercars Championship he had a profound and record-breaking impact. </p> <p>Steering the brand new chassis DJRTP04, McLaughlin raced his way through the 2017 and 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship seasons amassing an unbelievable 17 championship race wins, 29 championship race poles and 37 championship race podiums.</p> <p>This dominant run of results makes DJRTP04 the most successful DJR/DJRTP car in championship race history and delivered many memorable moments. <p>The most successful car manufacturer in the Australian Touring Car Championship / Supercars series, the Holden name has been an iconic part of the Australian motorsport landscape for decades, a standing which will no doubt continue well into the future despite the brand's offical retirement.<br><br>With that in mind, we're very excited to be presenting this new limited edition print series celebrating the legends of Holden Motorsport.<br><br>This edition features the iconic #1 Holden VR Commodore driven by Craig Lowndes and Greg Murphy to win the 1996 Bathurst 1000. <p>Authentic Collectables are proud to be releasing a new set of limited edition illustrated prints which celebrates both the 2019 Bathurst 1000 pole and victory for Shell V-Power Racing Team.</p> <p>After setting that unforgettable pole lap in 2017 and claiming a podium finish in 2018, 2019 was the year where Scott McLaughlin and Alexandre Prémat finally stood on the top step of the podium holding the Peter Brock Trophy aloft as winners of Australia’s ‘Great Race’, the Bathurst 1000.The iconic #17 Shell V-Power Ford Mustang GT was a rocket all weekend, repeatedly breaking the practice lap record before McLaughlin again dominated Mount Panorama in another breathtaking Top 10 Shootout, setting a new fastest-ever Supercars lap of the 6.213km circuit to secure pole position.Come race day, McLaughlin and Prémat either led or were among the lead pack all day but, after more than six hours of racing and a number of late-race Safety Car periods that set up a restart on Lap 161, it all boiled down to one final nail-biting lap. Despite cold tyres and immense pressure from a fast-finishing Shane van Gisbergen, McLaughlin skated his way around the mountain to take the chequered flag first, 0.6800s ahead of his Red Bull Holden Racing Team rival.It marked the first Bathurst 1000 victory for both McLaughlin and Prémat, who became the first Frenchman to win the Great Race. <p>George Fury secured pole position at the 1984 Bathurst 1000 in the No. 15 Nissan Bluebird Turbo against a who's who of famous motorsport names. Brock, Johnson, Moffat, Richards, Grice, Morris, Masterton, Hansford, and Walkinshaw were all there, piloting legendary machines from Holden, Ford, Mazda, BMW, and Jaguar, trying to record the fastest time around the mountain to claim the honour of starting on pole for Australia’s Great Race.</p> <p>Despite all their mouth-watering credentials, though, none were ultimately able to better Fury’s blistering pole time of 2 minutes 13.850 seconds, with the cold conditions and his immense talent behind the wheel helping the Turbo Nissan to the top of the timesheets.
