George Fury secured pole position at the 1984 Bathurst 1000 in the No. 15 Nissan Bluebird Turbo against a who's who of famous motorsport names. Brock, Johnson, Moffat, Richards, Grice, Morris, Masterton, Hansford, and Walkinshaw were all there, piloting legendary machines from Holden, Ford, Mazda, BMW, and Jaguar, trying to record the fastest time around the mountain to claim the honour of starting on pole for Australia’s Great Race.

Despite all their mouth-watering credentials, though, none were ultimately able to better Fury’s blistering pole time of 2 minutes 13.850 seconds, with the cold conditions and his immense talent behind the wheel helping the Turbo Nissan to the top of the timesheets. It was the first-ever Bathurst 1000 pole position by a car fitted with a turbocharger, and it was a pole lap time that would not be beaten until 1991.

Authentic Collectables ACP054 Holden Wins 600 1969-2022 Limited Edition Print
37.00
$

Holden has been a mainstay of the Australian Touring Car Championship since its inaugural race at Gnoo-Blas in 1960, when 17 cars, ranging from the 48-215 to the FJ and FE models, faced the starter.

The dawn of the muscle car era brought Holden’s first championship race win, Norm Beechey downing a host of high-powered imports with his Holden Monaro GTS 327. The wins kept coming as the championship transitioned into the Group C era in 1973, with a succession of Toranas and Commodores raced by heroes including Peter Brock, Colin Bond, Bob Morris and Allan Grice taking the marque to the top of the podium.

After a brief lull through the international Group A years, Holden struck back with the introduction of the five-litre V8 touring car rules in 1993 that put it head-to-head against traditional rival Ford. It was a battle that Holden’s teams and drivers fought fiercely, with legends like Brock, Larry Perkins and Jim Richards passing the torch to a new generation of stars led by Mark Skaife, Craig Lowndes, Garth Tander and Greg Murphy.

The cars they drove became synonymous with success: the VT Commodore set the pace for many seasons and through several model upgrades, before Holden’s ‘Billion Dollar Baby’, the VE Commodore, set a new record for wins surpassed only by its successor, the VF, campaigned by new stars led by Jamie Whincup and Shane van Gisbergen. Holden’s final Commodore, the ZB, secured the milestone 600th championship race win at Wanneroo Raceway in 2022 with Shane van Gisbergen’s triumph in Race 10.

This impressively designed large scale collectors print celebrates the milestone of Holden’s 600 race wins overall. It features an example of each championship race winning Holden model and the number of wins attributed to it, from the GTS 327 right through to the modern day Commodores, many of which were raced by the legendary names previously listed above.

The main car images featured through the middle of the print highlight cars raced by the top 4 winning Holden drivers, for the two top winning teams with the iconic Holden badge as the centrepiece of the design. Images of Holden’s top 10 winning drivers with their number of race wins complete the print along the bottom. It’s the ultimate collectors edition.

Printed on 250gsm matte paper stock using offset print technology, it measures a large 1000mm x 590mm and has been produced in an individually numbered limited edition of 450, officially licensed by Holden.

Don’t miss this amazing piece of memorabilia celebrating this historic milestone.

$

Authentic Collectables are very proud to be releasing a new limited edition illustrated print which celebrates the 2019 Bathurst 1000 victory by Scott McLaughlin and Alexandre Prémat for Shell V-Power Racing Team.

After setting that unforgettable pole lap in 2017 and claiming a podium finish in 2018, 2019 was the year where Scott McLaughlin and Alexandre Prémat finally stood on the top step of the podium holding the Peter Brock Trophy aloft as winners of Australia’s ‘Great Race', the Bathurst 1000.

The iconic #17 Shell V-Power Ford Mustang GT was a rocket all weekend, repeatedly breaking the practice lap record before McLaughlin again dominated Mount Panorama in another breathtaking Top 10 Shootout, setting a new fastest-ever Supercars lap of the 6.213km circuit to secure pole position.

Come race day, McLaughlin and Prémat either led or were among the lead pack all day but, after more than six hours of racing and a number of late-race Safety Car periods that set up a restart on Lap 161, it all boiled down to one final nail-biting lap. Despite cold tyres and immense pressure from a fast-finishing Shane van Gisbergen, McLaughlin skated his way around the mountain to take the chequered flag first, 0.6800s ahead of his Red Bull Holden Racing Team rival.

It marked the first Bathurst 1000 victory for both McLaughlin and Prémat, who became the first Frenchman to win the Great Race. The win fell 25 years after Dick Johnson’s last Bathurst win in 1994 and was the first since the formation of DJR Team Penske, with both Johnson and Roger Penske joining their drivers on the podium to celebrate an emotional and iconic triumph for the team.

Featuring the artwork of Australian designer / illustrator Tristan Groves, the winning Shell V-Power Ford Mustang GT is depicted climbing the mountain on approach to Reid Park with the famous ‘Mount Panorama Bathurst’ writing visible in the background. The print measures 594mm X 841mm printed on 250gsm matte paper using offset print technology in a limited edition run of only 500 copies and will be individually numbered and signed by the artist.

This is another amazing collector’s print for Scott McLaughlin / Alexandre Prémat and DJR Team Penske fans.
