<h3>AE First Class Passenger Car Kit</h3> <p>The 71' clerestory roofed 'E' class passenger cars were introduced into service between 1906 and 1910. AE first class cars numbers 1 - 38 and BE second class cars numbers 1 - 39 were used on the Sydney and Adelaide expresses and, together with the 'W' cars, provided the backbone of the V.R. passenger stock for many years.</p> <p>This kit consists of injection moulded 'W' class passenger car components and supplementary details. Because of differences in compartment sizes between AE and AW cars and between BE and BW cars, there are some compromises, but each coach is within 2% of the correct length so the difference is not too apparent. Because the sides, roof and floor need to be cut and spliced, some experience in "kit bashing" would be helpful. AE numbers 1,3,12 and 36, as well as BE numbers 4, 19, 31 and 34 were airconditioned in 1935/36 which altered their appearance considerably. Furthermore, AE cars 21, 26 and 34 were rebuilt into buffet cars Kiewa, Moyne and Taggerty respectively. Kiewa and Moyne were subsequently further modified to become 1 and 2 BG. AE cars rode on 4 wheel "Spirit of Progress" bogies from 1962 on.</p>

<p>On the 25th of August 2020 Avanti West Coast unveiled a new livery for one of its train-sets. Billed as the biggest Pride flag the UK has seen on the side of a train, the new livery wraps the full length of the 11 carriages in the Progressive Pride flag colours. <p>In-order to allow running at 125 mph on Britain's Victorian era railways, new rolling stock was needed by British Railways. Significant improvements over the Mk2 included new secondary air suspension between the bogies and the coach body as well as aerodynamic skirting on the underframe. Mk3 coaches are 75ft (23m) long enabling far greater capacity than older coaches. Mk3 coaches also incorporate disk brakes and wheel slip protection enabling faster deceleration. The first Mk3 coaches to be delivered were used as part of the HST prototype along with the two Class 41 diesel power cars in 1972.</p><p>Mk3 coaches entered service in 1975 along with the Class 43 forming the iconic InterCity 125 trainset. After the HST Mk3 coach variant was introduced, further Mk3 coaches were introduced to the West Coast Mainline for use as part of locomotive hauled trains. Whilst Mk3 stock is standard for HST units, the standard locomotive hauled stock is Mk3a. Mk3a stock differs from Mk3 stock due to the inclusion of buffers as well as a different electrical system that uses motor generator units in each coach to power air conditioning and other ancillaries Mk3a stock was built until 1984, before 3B stock with improved seating and lighting was built from 1985 to 1988.</p><p>Locomotive Services Limited (LSL) are a train operating company known for operating mainline rail tours with heritage diesel and steam locomotives. In 2017, upon being granted their certification to operate mainline charters, they became only the third company certified to operate steam locomotives on the mainline. <p>The tank wagon was the main method of transporting liquid cargo in the early days of the railway. Instead of loading liquids into drums or barrels and then having to load these on and off of closed or open vans at each side of a journey, the tank wagon could be filled with the fluid of choice of the operator and then emptied at the other end. This would also increase the carrying capacity of each wagon, as a wagon with a 12 tonne weight limit could carry more fluid if it did not have to factor in the weight of many barrels on top of their contents. <h3>PECO FREIGHT AND LINESIDE N - WAGON LOAD KIT - IRON ORE<br> </h3> <p>All kits comprise a bag of load material, such as coal or sand, plus sections of board that are cut to size to fit the desired wagon. The modeller, using a PVA adhesive, secures the materials on the cut boards and places the load inside the wagon for instant effect. The additional benefit, apart from the realism, is that some valuable weight is added to what might otherwise be a very light vehicle. Especially useful in an N scale wagon!</p> <p>The N scale kits contain enough material for up to 6 wagons. Full instructions are provided in the packs.</p>

<p>Designed as a replacement for a hopper designed just after the nationalisation of the railways in 1948, the 1970s built PGA hoppers would replace wagons that were pushing 30 years old with technology or lack thereof to match.
