It was one of the biggest things to happen in Australian motorsport when legendary Ford team Dick Johnson Racing joined forces with the powerhouse of American motorsport, Team Penske to form DJR Team Penske.

In their first full time season competing in the 2015 Supercars Championship, the team employed a rolling sponsorship livery which was essentially the same base design used on the exterior of the car across the whole year which would be updated with the various colour schemes and branding of the different major sponsor for each round where it was needed.

This changeable livery design presented the team with the opportunity to create their own DJR Team Penske branded Falcon which was used on various occasions, particularly at ride days and for promotional purposes across the season.

The black and white livery with hints of red really looked neat and impressive. Combined with the DJR Team Penske logo adorning the sides and bonnet along with the famous number 17 and Scott Pye and Marcos Ambrose's names on the windows, it was unmistakable.

It’s a unique model for fans of this team or drivers that represents the early days of DJR Team Penske which would quickly become a powerhouse in Supercars, especially between 2017-2020 before Team Penske’s exit from the category and is one that shouldn’t be missed.

Don’t miss this model in 1:43 scale which has been produced by Authentic Collectables in high quality sealed body die-cast with clear windows, detailed interior and will be presented in a clear display case with a stamped based and an individually numbered backing board in a limited edition of 216 pieces.

Kyosho 8953PY 1/18 Austin Healey Sprite Mk1 Primrose Yellow

The Sprite entered the Austin Healey line-up in 1958 as the entry sports car model developed by BMC (British Motor Corporation) which existed from 1952 to 1966. Conceived as a small sports car for mass appeal, the minimalist engine and undercarriage were designed to keep costs down. Weight reduction was also a focus, and the Sprite adopted the world’s first semi-monocoque open body. While the 948cc inline 4-cylinder engine output was only 43ps, this was sufficient power for the 600kg vehicle weight (less than modern ‘light vehicles’), which was the highest power to weight in its class at the time. Combined with the rack and pinion steering gearbox, the highly responsive Sprite reaffirmed the pure joy of driving with a lightweight sports car. Produced from 1958 to 1960, the Mk 1 was the most popular model in the series, which was in production for 13 years through to 1971. The Mk 1 not only embodies the elements of the initial development concept of only incorporating parts necessary for driving performance, but also features a distinctive front mask with headlights protruding from the bonnet hood that appealed to many. This feature earned the Mk 1 nicknames such as ‘crab eyes’ in Japan, ‘frog-eye’ in England, and ‘bug-eye’ in the United States.

After passing the 400 race starts milestone last year, Tim Slade returns to the PremiAir Racing outfit as part of an unchanged driver line to contest the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship.

Slade’s #23 Nulon backed Camaro looks similar to his 2023 challenger given it’s black base and the red and white colour scheme, but there are nice updates to the livery, most notably the new graphics on the bonnet and sides of the car.

With an unchanged driver line-up and race car package, the biggest change for this team will be the inclusion of gun engineer Ludo Lacroix. Time will ultimately tell if he can help to accelerate this team’s lofty goals and climb up the championship standings in 2024 and beyond.

Regardless, the Nulon Camaros look aggressive at the very least, with this model set to be replicated based on the season-opening Thrifty Bathurst 500 round.

This 1:43 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high quality sealed body die-cast with clear windows, detailed racing cockpit and undercarriage details unique to the Gen3 floorpan.

Comprised of roughly 65 individual metal and plastic parts plus anywhere between 50-100 steps in paint and decoration finishing, this is a high quality collectors model for fans of this scale.

It is scheduled to be produced in an exclusive one-off limited edition, presented in a display case with the model attached to a white base plate which features the car details printed on it. An individually numbered backing board featuring the edition number is also included as part of the package and acts as the Certificate of Authenticity for the release.

Features
