Solido 1801112 1/18 Porsche 911 RSR - Backdating Outlaw Diecast Car

$

This Porsche 911 joined the world back in 1973, with the ambition of becoming part of the European GT championship. The objective was to beat its Ferrari rival who, with its 365 GTB Daytona was equipped with an engine twice the size of the German’s. The base of the car was a 911 S that had already proven itself in rallies. The weight was reduced to a minimum, barely 840 kilos, and the engine was pushed from 2.4 to 2.7 liters. In 1973, several changes were made bringing the latter to 2.8 liters. Its horsepower was consequently brought to a total of 308, with a top speed of 280 km/h. These characteristics easily brought this car into the fold of Porsche mythology.

Authentic Collectables ACR12F19CW 1/12 Shell V-Power Racing Team No.17 Ford Mustang GT 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Winner Driver Scott McLaughlin
125.00
$

If winning the 2018 championship was a road to redemption for Scott McLaughlin and Shell V-Power Racing Team then his 2019 championship win was a road to broken records.

McLaughlin and the team were simply in a league of their own for much of the year, starting by winning both races at the season opening Adelaide 500 to give the brand new Ford Mustang GT a perfect debut along with claiming McLaughlin’s first Adelaide 500 crown. From Adelaide, McLaughlin went on an absolute tear leaving all competition behind him. He racked up race wins at Albert Park, Symmons Plains, Phillip Island, Barbagallo, Winton and then Hidden Valley where he became the first driver to ever accomplish the feat of winning the Triple Crown.

Wins at Townsville and Queensland Raceway were followed by a weekend sweep at The Bend Motorsport Park which pushed his tally to 16 wins for the year, equaling the record of most race wins in a season set by Craig Lowndes in 1996. Fittingly, McLaughlin broke that 23-year-old record at his home round at Pukekohe in front of an adoring New Zealand crowd, notching up win number 17 for the year in his 100th Supercars Championship round start.

The next focus for the young Kiwi was claiming a maiden Bathurst 1000 win and that’s exactly what he did, McLaughlin and co-driver Alexandre Prémat put in supreme driving performances to take out the first Bathurst win for the team in 25 years and the first under the DJR Team Penske banner.

The almost-perfect season was brought - literally - crashing back to earth at the following round, the Gold Coast 600. McLaughlin hit a concrete wall at 140km/h while pushing the limits in qualifying, the savage impact writing off his Bathurst-winning #17 Mustang, never to be raced again. A mammoth round-the-clock effort saw the team build a new car in a week for the Sandown 500 where he and Premat’s ninth place finish was enough for McLaughlin to wrap up the 2019 championship with a round to spare.

Second and fourth place finishes at the Newcastle 500 capped off a remarkable season, McLaughlin raising the Supercars Championship trophy to become just the 10th driver to win back-to-back titles after a year where he took 18 wins, 15 poles and 22 podiums, along with being voted the Most Popular Driver by the fans and the Driver’s Driver by his peers.

Authentic Collectables are very proud to present this 1:18 Scale DJR Team Penske Sell My Car Ford FGX Falcon Supercar driven by Fabian Coulthard and Luke Youlden at the 2016 Castrol Gold Coast 600.

Fabian Coulthard's arrival at DJR Team Penske in 2016 was eventful as the fast Kiwi driver came to grips with the FGX Falcon package after spending a number of years previously in the Holden Commodore. There were some encouraging results, notably a pole at the season opening Adelaide 500 and podiums at Phillip Island and Winton all the while the team implemented a 'rolling sponsorship' system where the major backer and livery/colours of the cars would change on a round-by-round basis across the year.

Paired with stalwart Luke Youlden for the endurance races, Coulthard's 2016 Gold Coast 600 race will no doubt be best remembered for a spectacular crash involving HRT's Garth Tander. In a battle for position, Coulthard led Tander out of the last turn and accelerated up to 265kmph where the duelling drivers eventually tangled after an obvious error from Tander saw the front of his Commodore nudge the left hand rear corner of Coulthard's Falcon, sending Coulthard into the concrete wall at high speed, absolutely wrecking the car. The car couldn't have been closer to being labeled a write-off however an absolutely monumental effort by everyone at DJR Team Penske got the car repaired and on the grid for the Sunday race. Tander later said he deeply regretted the move.

Don't miss this model in 1:18 scale which has been produced by Authentic Collectables in high quality die-cast with detailed interior, opening bonnet and all four doors along with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity in a limited edition of 402.

Classic Carlectables 18725 1/18 Holden L34 Torana 1976 Bathurst 5th Place
124.00
$

The 1976 Bathust was dominated by the Holden L34 Torana, this was partly due to the shear number competing, there were sixteen L34 Toranas, compared to only three Ford Falcons. ‘Captain’ Peter Janson was teamed with Kevin Bartlett in the Number 15 L34 Torana. Bartlett’s qualifying time of 2m29.5s was good enough for the 9th fastest time, but was a way back from pole sitter Allan Moffat who set a time of 2m25.0s The start of the 1976 race is best know when the Triumph Dolomite of Wade/Dellaca slammed into the rear of the stalled Holden L34 of Brabham/Moss. Both cars would continue the race, but were non-finishers. When the smoke had cleared, Janson had climbed into 6th position, getting ahead of Negus and Goss. Several of the Toranas were having issues with their brakes, this didn’t plague the number 15 car but they were forced to pit with a broken rear axel. Janson took 5th position when Hamilton brought their L34 Torana into the pits also suffering from a broken rear axel. The Captain Peter Janson car went on to finish in 5th position.

Item includes certificate and production number plate, mounted to the chassis.
