<p>After claiming the Supercars Driver and Team’s Championship double in 2023, Erebus Motorsport looks vastly different in 2024.</p> <p>At the Perth SuperSprint, the team unveiled a striking BIC livery for Jack Le Brocq's #9 Chevrolet Camaro.</p> <p>The iconic BIC logo down the sides, combined with the incredible colour scheme delivered an extremely good looking race car and one we're excited to replicate for collectors and fans of both the driver, team and BIC brand.</p> <p>This 1:18 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high quality die-cast with opening parts which includes the bonnet and both the driver and passenger doors.</p> <p>A highly detailed racing cockpit can be seen through the molded clear glasshouse, or by opening the doors to examine the interior further. Under the bonnet includes a detailed 5.7-litre Chevrolet Racing LTR V8 and engine bay surround. <p>At the 2023 Adelaide 500, Dick Johnson Racing became the first team to reach 500 Championship Rounds in ATCC / Supercars history.<br><br>A racer at heart, DJR started from humble beginnings in the wake of the now infamous rock incident at Bathurst in 1980 which is now part of Australian motorsport folklore.<br><br>With a newly built Tru-Blu Ford Falcon XD, Dick Johnson rolled up to the first round of the 1981 Australian Touring Car Championship at Symmons Plains in what would be DJR’s first official appearance as a team. He won that round and then a few more, including the season ending Lakeside round to seal the championship against his great rival Peter Brock - a pretty handy debut season for the team which also included a Bathurst 1000 win.<br><br>Fast forward over 40 years and the iconic Ford team has grown from a backyard operation into one of the oldest and most revered professional motorsport teams in the country with 10 drivers titles, 3 teams championships, 4 Bathurst 1000 wins, 148 race wins, 314 podiums and 154 pole positions.<br><br>Both Dick Johnson and his team are legends in motorsport.<br><br>To celebrate the 500 rounds milestone, designer Tristan Groves has created this very special model for fans of Dick Johnson Racing which combines characteristics reminiscent of the iconic 1981 Tru-Blu Ford Falcon XD applied to the 2023 Gen3 Mustang GT Supercar which the team races currently.<br><br>It's an awesome combination of both old and new.<br><br>This 1:43 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high quality sealed body die-cast with clear windows, detailed racing cockpit and undercarriage details unique to the Gen3 floorpan.<br><br>Comprised of roughly 65 individual metal and plastic parts plus anywhere between 50-100 steps in paint and decoration finishing, this is a high quality collectors model for fans of this scale.<br><br>It is scheduled to be produced in an exclusive one-off limited edition, presented in a display case with the model attached to a white base plate which features the car details printed on it. <p>A new era began in 2023 when Gen3 Supercars were introduced to race in the Supercars Championship.<br><br>A significant evolution from the previous Gen2 platform, the Gen3 rules implemented a raft of changes for the Ford Mustang GT Supercar in 2023, with a large focus on achieving a much closer visual connection to its road going counterpart, more controlled parts and less downforce to encourage greater racing.<br><br>After joining the team midway through the 2022 season, James Golding continues on with PremiAir Racing for the 2023 Supercars Championship racing the menacing looking #31 Nulon backed Camaro. <p>Holden were arguably at the peak of their powers when the iconic Australian car manufacturer launched their brand new VE Commodore platform and it was inevitable that the new model would ultimately find itself being utilised by police forces and emergency services in various states across the country.</p> <p>New South Wales was one of the states which used the VE platform for its police vehicle fleet during the models lifetime and we’re excited to present this NSW Police Highway Patrol car which uses our existing VE Commodore tooling. It includes various updates and refinements making it a closer representation of a police car which you can read more about below.</p> <p>Interestingly, most states of Australia which used the VE as part of their fleet during this time had varying differences with how they turned the model into a Police car based on their individual standards or requirements. Most notably, the roof mounted light bar was one of the main visible distinguishing features that was often different between states and the lighting rig we have opted to use for this model is the one consistent with use by the NSW Police force on this car during the period.</p> <p>Compared to our VE SS V series road car model in this scale, this Police variant includes a significant range of modifications to the model tooling specifications to bring it in line with what you would expect to see in a police car.</p> <p>These modifications include the previously mentioned roof mounted light bar with additional roof antennas, round police spotlights mounted on the front bumper, radar, detailed police interior including computer, UHF radio, dash camera system and upgrades to the boot including a rear drawer with light system and fire extinguisher.</p> <p>Another notable visual difference between this model and our SS V road car release is the different SS wheels and of course, the recognisable police exterior signage and decoration.</p> <p>Seemingly, there were many numerous car colours used by the NSW Police force and other states across the VE’s lifespan decked out in police trim.
