<p>After unveiling a highly praised refresh of their iconic livery ahead of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship season, the Shell V-Power Racing Team surprised fans with an unexpected livery change for Round Three at the ITM Taupo Super 440 in New Zealand.</p> <p>For the New Zealand round only, the familiar colours and branding of Shell V-Power were replaced by Jet Couriers, with a striking maroon and white livery featuring Jet Couriers branding on the doors, bonnet, and roof. The livery also included a special nod to the NZ round, with a stylised version of the iconic silver fern displayed on the car and “NZ” positioned beneath the event logos on both doors.</p> <p>New partner logos also appeared on the livery for the NZ event, including BK Trading Australia on the headlights, Help.com on the sides of the rear bar, and Greyhound Australia on the rear. Other notable changes included updated Doric NZ logos on the mirrors and a uniquely coloured stylised ‘D4VI5ON’ numberplate on the front bar, as part of the team’s partnership with PPQ.</p> <p>Still entered as the Shell V-Power Racing Team for the NZ round, and with the iconic Shell Pecten logo retained on the front bar of the No. 17 Mustang, it marked the first time a Dick Johnson Racing entry had not run in a full Shell V-Power Racing Team livery since the beginning of 2017.</p> <p>Racing at the event where the team secured the prestigious Jason Richards Trophy in 2024, this new-look Mustang is a must-have for collectors wanting to keep their Dick Johnson Racing collections up to date.</p> <p>The Taupo Super 440 was Davisons most successful round to date in 2025, securing a second place finish for race 9 where he shared the podium with team mate Brodie Kostecki for the first time who finished in third place.</p> <p>This 1:18 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high quality die-cast with opening parts which includes the bonnet and both the driver and passenger doors.</p> <p>A highly detailed racing cockpit can be seen through the molded clear glasshouse, or by opening the doors to examine the interior further. Under the bonnet includes a detailed 5.4-litre Coyote quad overhead cam V8 and engine bay surround. <p>Late in 1970, Ford replaced the XW range with the new XY range. As with the XW, a GT was also released. By the first half Of 1971 , a GT-HO, the Phase III, was released. This GT-HO was a true supercar and With a top speed Of over 140rnph was the hotest four door sedan in the world at the time.<br>Approximately 300 XY GT-HO Phase Ill Falcons were produced. This new XY had more subtle side striping than the XW, but it lacked none of the aggressive 100k people had come to expect. A functional, as well as decorative, air-cleaner assembly with a scoop protruding through a hole in the bonnet was standard- Ultimately this scoop assembly would become known as a "shaker".<br>The driving lights, bonnet pins, bonnet blackouts and red wall tyres fitted to five slot or the five Star rims, enhanced the car's appearance. The car was available in many colours and three trim colours, black. white and saddle.<br>As with the XW GT and the XY GT and previous GT—HOs, the Phase Ill had the top of the line interior with a centre console, a sports steering wheel and a sports dash with a 140mph speedometer and an 8000rpm tachometer. The 351 cubic inch four barrel Cleveland engine was retained from the Phase II. Though the Phase II looked different from the Phase III, mechanically they were similar. The most significant engine improvernent on the Phase Ill was the introduction Of a full extractor exhaust system. A 780cfm Holley carburettor With a manual choke replaced the 750cfm Holley used on the Phase II. A few internal modifications to the Phase Ill allowed the engine to produce more horsepower.<br>The Phase Ill brakes were upgraded with the introduction of a brake vacuum reserve tank and new PBR front callipers. Not all the Phase III Falcons had the PBR callipers as standard. with many being fitted with "old" Kelsey Hayes type. The XY was such a beautifully built car, with awesome power and handling to match.</p>
