Classic Carlectables 18784 1/18 Holden HZ GTS Sandlewood Metallic

124.00 $

The HZ series was launched in October 1977 and represents the best of the Holden GTS range, the last of the US inspired “big body” Holdens. Subsequent Holdens would now follow European styling and engineering, evident by the behind scenes work gearing up for the most drastic model shift ever, the launch of the Commodore in 1978. The HZ brought remarkable advances in ride and handling with the introduction of Radial Tuned Suspension, delivering a Holden that tamed local road conditions better than any before with road straightening, precise handling and better stability under braking. While the Radial Tuned Suspension (RTS) had its biggest impact on the GTS, many more appointments helped to make it more of a stand-alone package, including four quartz halogen head lamps, mesh grille, colour-coded front and rear spoilers and bumpers and subtle body stripes and detailing on optioned-up versions. The HZ GTS initially was offered as a 4.2 V8, but was dropped in April 1978 when power steering became standard. So Holden’s classic 308ci (5.0 litre) became the power source. The interior featured further special treatment including revised instruments, tartan plaid cloth on the classy contoured bucket seats and a sports steering wheel. The five spoke, colour-coded, pressed steel rims also became a GTS option for the HZ.

Item includes certificate with individual production number.
