Kyosho 08543S 1/18 BMW 2002 tii Silver

123.00 $

The compact sporty BMW 02 series was popular in the late 1960s and early 1970s and was nicknamed ‘Maruni’ in Japan, which is Japanese for ‘Zero-Two’. The 02 was developed to meet the high demand for 2-door models in the North American market and shared components with the BMW 1500 (known as the New Class), which was the first compact 4-door sedan produced by BMW after WWII. Due to the compact body and 100kg lighter weight, the 02 delivered excellent performance with comfort and quickly became a market success. Until the introduction of the turbo, the 2002tii launched in 1972 was the top of the line and benefited from engine tuning know-how gained from participation in European touring car racing. The 2002tii was powered by a 2ℓ 4-cylinder SOHC engine combined with Kugelfischer mechanical injectors, which was rare at the time, to deliver 10㎰/10.1kg-m (130㎰/18.1kg-m) more than the 2002ti carburetor specification. With a choice of either 4-speed MT or 5-speed MT, the 2002tii reached a maximum speed of 190km/h. This model is based on the version produced in early 1973 and features the signature BMW ‘kidney grille’ in silver (black in later models) with stylish round tail lens (square in later models).

Kyosho 8130R 1/18 Lancia Stratos HF Red

129.00 $

In the 1970s the ‘Stratos’ brought Lancia to the attention of the Japanese motoring public. Represented as a Group 5 machine driven by the main character in the hit manga series ‘Circuit Wolf’, the Stratos image was indelibly linked to racing specifications, however it was originally designed to conquer the WRC (World Rally Championship). As the world’s first purpose-built machine for rally racing, the Stratos won the manufacturers championship title three times in succession from 1974 to 1976. Front and rear pipe frames and body with monocoque cabin and a wheelbase of 2,180mm, shorter than other light cars, plus tread of 1,430mm/1,460mm (overall width 1,750mm) delivered weight distribution for improved cornering performance. The extreme dimensions ensured high responsiveness and superior body rigidity. Considering its main purpose for rally raiding, the 2.4ℓ V6 engine from the Ferrari Dino 246GT, which also belonged to the Fiat Group, was retuned for low-medium speeds. While output from the production spec vehicle was 190㎰/23kg-m, the WRC spec version increased output to 240ps. Having both worked on the Lamborghini Miura, Marcello Gandini, who also worked on Countach, and Giampaola Dallara combined to develop the solid wedge-shaped body on this world-famous rally masterpiece.
