Classic Carlectables 18786 1/18 Chevrolet Camaro 1972 ATCC Round 1 Symmons Plains 2nd Place Car

124.00 $

The 1972 Australian Touring Car Championship was a CAMS sanctioned national motor racing title open to Group C Improved Production Touring Cars and Group E Series Production Touring Cars. The Championship, which was the 13th running of the Australian Touring Car Championship, began at Symmons Plains and ended at Oran Park after eight rounds.
1972 would be the final time the Improved Production cars would contest the ATCC. From 1973, CAMS introduced a new production based Group C touring car formula. Outright cars like the Ford Mustangs, Chevrolet Camaros, Norm Beechey's Holden Monaro and Ian Geoghegan's Ford XY Falcon GTHO Phase III would be replaced with production based Ford Falcons and Holden Toranas.
Defending Champion Bob Jane won his fourth and final Australian Touring Car Championship in his Chevrolet ZL-1 Camaro. Unlike 1971 when Jane's Camaro used the 7.0 litre 427 V8 engine, CAMS rule changes reducing the engine capacity limit to 6000cc forced him to run the 5.7 litre 350 V8.
After fighting an intense Championship battle with his toughest opponent Alan Moffat, Jane came out as Champion once again, winning four rounds (Calder, Adelaide, Warwick Farm and Surfers Paradise) and finishing second twice, third once, and just one DNF from the eight rounds.
Second in the championship was the Ford Escort Twin Cam Mk.1 of Mike Stillwell whose consistent placings in the under 2.0 litre class saw him finish 11 points behind Jane. Third was Allan Moffat in his Ford Boss 302 Mustang.
Although he was not classified after not scoring a point, the 1972 Championship saw Peter Brock make his ATCC debut driving a Holden LJ Torana GTR XU-1 for Harry Firth's Holden Dealer Team.

Features

The 15x10 ‘Minilite’ magnesium Wheel Rims have been authentically replicated.

The rear Number Plate opens up to reveal the Boot Release Lever.

Comprehensive Dash with precise instrumentation and Centre Console Switch Panel.

Stark, efficient Cockpit features a NASCAR style Roll Cage and authentic Racing Seats with 5 point harnesses complete with buckles.

Dry Sumped 427 cubic inch (7.0 litre) all-alloy V8 ‘Rat’ motor.

A removable Air Filter tray has been included to accentuate the single (four barrel) Carburettor.

Detailed drop tank with Can-Am fuel cell technology is beautifully featured inside the Boot.

Meticulous chassis includes realistic metal finishes, working suspension and many more features.

Item includes certificate with individual production number.

Classic Carlectables 18721 1/18 Holden HQ GTS Monaro Glacier White Diecast Car

116.00 $

When the two door Holden HQ GTS Monaro was released to the Australian motoring public in July 1971 it proved incredibly popular, being an all new design, the fourth all new Holden body produced in ten years. With the confidence of almost a quarter of a million of the much loved HQ range already on the road, Holden released the four door GTS version in April 1973. The monocoque construction and all new four-wheel coil spring suspension provided superior ride and handling and delivered a smoother, safer, more elegant car than any previous Holden.

Praised for its advanced features and individual styling, the HQ range represented a more sophisticated design direction for Australian made cars, while delivering the rugged durability and family-size roominess expected by Holden buyers. The HQ was the largest selling model range to date for Holden and would ensure Holden's title of Australia's No. I car manufacturer. The HQ became an automotive icon of the period.

Item includes certificate with individual production number.

Specification

Scale: 1:18

Type: Road Cars

Limited Edition Quantity: 1000

Classic Carlectables 18785 1/18 Holden VK Commodore 1986 Bathurst Car

124.00 $

The James Hardie 1000 Bathurst of 1986 was as eventful as it was disappointing for Larry Perkins and David Parson. After qualifying for grid position four Perkins and Parsons had a dismal race day, finishing 25th outright. It was almost 1pm and by now the leaders had such a cushion of space that their pit stops weren’t disturbing their positions. David Parsons was in at 12.54.11, out at 12.54.49, Perkins aboard and fitted with fresh Dunlops and three churns of fuel without dropping a place. The Enzed Commodore arrived at its workshop at 1.14. Perkins felt a bearing might have run in the gearbox, and while they were fitting the new Getrag the crew was also checking the engine and changing brake pads. It would take 55 minutes and which would allow the car to run perfectly and see it through to the end of the race. The Enzed team had dropped to 39th place, or second last of the cars still running, and Perkins was desperately disappointed although they worked hard and secured themselves 25th outright.

Item includes certificate and production number plate, mounted to the chassis.
