The Holden FC was a great achievement for Holden, introduced on the 6th of May 1958. The model was extremely popular, at its peak the model had over 50% of the market share. In the production of the FC it was the first time Holden had produced more than 100,000 units in a year. Holden created a major millstone with the FC when on October 22nd 1958 it became the 500,000 Holden produced. The Managing Director Earl C Daum presented the car (a Station Sedan) to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

As with previous Holden models, the FC was a revised version of previous model. The revision of a model half way through its life helped maintain interest and sales. The FC was an improved version of the FE.

The most notable upgrades were to the external body, with chrome trim now dominating the side of the car. The front grille was much bolder with the front indicators now incorporated into the front bumper, chrome tail fins were also a new addition to the rear of the car. The interior also had a make over with new door liner and seat trim. The steering wheel featured a half ring horn to give greater visibility of the instruments which also had an upgrade, with a shroud around the dials to reduce reflections.
After a production run of 191,724 vehicles, in January 1960 the FC was replaced by an all new model the Holden FB.

Classic Carlectables 18623 1/18 Holden A9X Torana 1978 Bathurst Winner Brock/Richards

The 1978 season began with expert race car builder John Shepherd taking over management of the Holden Dealer Team (M-HDT), Peter Brock also returned to the team as their number one driver after three years away racing as a privateer. The M-HDT A9X driven by Peter Brock swept all before them in 1978 with the return to the top of the Australian Touring Car Championship.

The 1978 Bathurst saw the introduction of the Hardies Heroes Top 10 runoff (now referred as the Top Ten Shootout). Morning showers meant that the track was damp during the first run, but as the track dried out times improved with slick tyres. Brock ran a 2:20.006 in his second attempt, that was enough to give him his second Bathurst pole in succession.
Brock suffered a poor start when his differential failed to lock. He fought back and by lap 34 was leading the pack at a cracking pace. A litany of problems to others ultimately left the run clear for the Brock / Richards team, they had the race by the throat. When the flag fell on the tattered field, the M-HDT had won Bathurst and by a full lap ahead of Allan Grice and John Leffler’s A9X. Peter Brock claimed his third win, and Jim Richards, his first. It marked the beginning of the awesome M-HDT A9X and a place in Australian motorsport history.

Item includes certificate and production number plate, mounted to the chassis.

Authentic Collectables ACD18F23R 1/18 Cooldrive Racing No.3 Ford Mustang GT 2023 Betr Darwin Triple Crown Indigenous Round Todd Hazelwood

The 2023 Darwin Triple Crown at Hidden Valley was the official indigenous round of the Supercars championship for the second year running.

Every car raced at the event featured an Indigenous-themed livery or artwork, produced by various indigenous artists with different stories behind their works.

Various teams and drivers have embraced indigenous artwork on their cars or helmets in the past years for the Darwin round but this was the second time the category as a whole came together in an effort to recognise First Nations people after a successful debut as an official theme in 2022.

The end result was simply stunning once again. The variety of colours and artworks beautifully weaved into the racing schemes of each team was a true sight to behold and made for an exceptional weekend of Supercars racing.

CoolDrive Racing have been known for their bold blue livery in recent years and their #3 Mustang driven by Todd Hazelwood at Darwin in 2023 once again looked brilliant with indigenous artwork flowing across the bonnet and roof of the race car. Featuring artwork by acclaimed Djerait artist Melissa Yaram Tipo, the design represented three Generations of the Blanchard family through the use of three crocodiles and pattern work and looked very impressive.

It makes for another incredible Darwin edition for collectors.

This 1:18 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high quality die-cast with opening parts which includes the bonnet and both the driver and passenger doors.

A highly detailed racing cockpit can be seen through the molded clear glasshouse, or by opening the doors to examine the interior further. Under the bonnet includes a detailed 5.4-litre Coyote quad overhead cam V8 and engine bay surround. Underneath the model, the undercarriage details the unique Gen3 floorpan.

Comprised of roughly 204 individual metal and plastic parts, with anywhere between 100-200 steps in paint and decoration finishing, including tampo printing where possible, photo etched parts including the bonnet pints, brake rotors and more, this is a high quality, detailed collectors model.

It is scheduled to be produced in an exclusive, one-off limited edition with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity presented in its own, Authentic Collectables branded protective cardboard folder.
