Classic Carlectables 18750 1/18 Ford Cortina GT Goodwood Green

121.00 $

The Ford Cortina is a car that was built by Ford of Britain in various guises from 1962 to 1982.
Using the project name of “Archbishop”, management at Ford of Britain in Dagenham created a family-sized car which they could sell in large numbers. The car was designed to be economical, cheap to run and easy and inexpensive to produce. The car was launched as the Consul Cortina until a modest facelift in 1964, after which it was sold simply as the Cortina.
With its lightweight shell and very decent handling, Ford’s engineers soon realised the Cortina had genuine potential as a performance model and created the GT by adding a Cosworth-tuned 1.5-litre version of the Kent four-cylinder engine, upgrading the transmission, brakes and suspension and extra dials in the centre console. The Cortina GT was soon selling in huge numbers and few cars could match its 95 mph top speed or willing acceleration at such an affordable price. Cortina GTs were homologated by Ford for rallying and notched up numerous wins on the international stage in the mid 1960s.
The Cortina GT enjoyed a similar level of success in Australia, particular on the legendary Mount Panorama circuit, dominating the Armstrong 500 in 1963 and 1964.

Item includes certificate and production number plate, mounted to the chassis.

Authentic Collectables ACR18H22X 1/18 Boost Mobile Racing Powered by Erebus No.51 Holden ZB Commodore 2022 Repco Bathurst 1000 Wildcard Richie Stanaway / Greg Murphy

104.00 $

The 2022 Repco Bathurst 1000 featured 28 cars entered in the event making it the biggest grid seen for the Great Race since 2013.

Of those cars, 19 Holden ZB Commodores would feature - in what would be the final time Holden would race at the mountain in the 1000 - along with 9 Ford Mustang GTs. Of those cars, three wildcards were entered and a wet and wild weekend of racing ensued.

Such was the wild nature of the weather, the Top 10 Shootout had to be cancelled due to safety concerns. With rivers of water flowing down the mountain on late Saturday afternoon, it was the first time since its introduction in 1977 that the Shootout wasn’t held. As a result, the top 10 starting positions were determined based on the previous days qualifying.

One of the wildcard entries was the popular Boost Mobile Racing Powered by Erebus duo of Richie Stanaway and 4x Bathurst 1000 winner Greg Murphy driving the #51 Holden ZB Commodore. Stanaway, was super impressive in the wet conditions to have the car sitting in 4th position on the grid come race day.

Having an experienced co-driver in 2022 was definitely a massive bonus for teams and Murphy was certainly that, starting the race and avoiding the chaos of the opening laps. The duo made it as high as 2nd place during the race but a collision on lap 61 sent them a lap down which ultimately cost them the chance of a real shot at the podium. After managing to get back on the lead lap in the late stages of the race, they finished in a respectable 11th place.

Ultimately it was an incredible return to the mountain for both drivers and it was clear the fans really loved the #51 entry.

Don’t miss this 1:18 scale model which has been produced as a sealed body with clear windows and detailed interior in a limited edition with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

Features

1:18 Scale Boost Mobile Racing Powered by Erebus #51 Holden ZB Commodore

Sealed body resin with clear windows and detailed interior
