Authentic Collectables ACD18F21H 1/18 Shell V-Power Racing Team No.11 Ford Mustang GT 2021 Merlin Darwin Triple Crown Indigenous Livery Driver Anton De Pasquale

104.00 $

There's no doubt that the now very familiar, perhaps iconic, Shell V-Power livery raced by the team over the past five years looks fantastic but it was very refreshing to see a big change when the team unveiled a spectacular one-off indigenous livery on both their Ford Mustangs for the 2021 Darwin Triple Crown.

Dedicated to Racing Together, a programme designed to give 12-to-18-year-old Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders an opportunity to pursue a career in motorsport as a driver or a member of a race team, the impressive livery was designed by Braedyn Cidoni who is a Racing Together team member. Also an aspiring driver for Racing Together, Cidoni's design was inspired by the artwork of Allison Millcock and the result looked exceptional on the sides of the #11 and #17 Shell V-Power Mustangs.

Come race weekend, De Pasquale's trip to the Top End had plenty of action. A magnificent qualifying performance put car 11 on Pole for Race 12 on the Saturday only to be rear-ended on the opening lap to see his race over as soon as started. The young gun again qualified well for both Sunday races to start from P3 but some pitstop and racing errors ultimately cost the team stronger results for both outings.

Nevertheless, car 11 was fast in Darwin and the indigenous livery was received with tremendous respect and fanfare.

Don’t miss this model which has been produced by Authentic Collectables in high quality die-cast with detailed interior and fully opening parts in a limited edition of 660 with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity. With many fans sending us messages requesting this livery to be replicated in scale model form, it's sure to be a popular addition to collections for fans of the Shell V-Power Racing Team.

Features

1:18 Scale Shell V-Power Racing Team #11 Ford Mustang GT

2021 Merlin Darwin Triple Crown Indigenous Livery

Driver: Anton De Pasquale

Limited Edition Number: 660

Die-cast model car with detailed interior and opening parts

Classic Carlectables 18720 1/18 Ford XR GT Falcon - Sultan Maroon Diecast Car

116.00 $

The XR GT Falcon was released to the public in May 1967. The credibility of the XR was strengthened when it was selected by the New South Wales and Victorian police as their high speed pursuit vehicle. Bill Bourke, Ford Australia’s Managing Director at the time, saw the prototype of the XR Falcon V8 police special and decided to develop a production version. This new GT was developed at Ford’s proving ground You Yang in North Melbourne by Ford engineers in conjunction with Harry Firth, a leading driver and race car preparer. Sales success was assured due to a win at Bathurst in 1967 by Harry Firth and Fred Gibson. The XR GT had well and truly proven itself as a vehicle that offered performance, comfort and safety amongst its features.

The XR GT was most famously produced in GT Gold paint. Of the 684 manufactured, 671 were gold, the remaining 13 cars were spilt between 6 colours. Eight of the cars were painted in ‘Gallaher Silver’, to promote the sponsor of the 1967 Bathurst race. Three cars were delivered to race teams for the Bathurst race, painted in ‘Ivy Green’, ‘Polar White’ and ‘Sultan Maroon’. The remaining two cars were painted for Ford executives one went to Bill Bourke, requesting a Russet Bronze version. The last car was painted in Avis White for an unknown executive.

Item includes certificate with individual production number.

Specification

Scale: 1:18

Type: Road Cars

Limited Edition Quantity: 500

Classic Carlectables 18798 1/18 Ford XA Falcon RPO83 Coupe Wild Plum

124.00 $

Early in 1972 Ford released the XA GT Falcon in sedan and hardtop versions. It was the first Falcon to be totally designed by Australians, as production of the Falcon in the US had ceased some 18 months earlier. The XA was the biggest Falcon yet, with the boldest styling, designed for wider appeal with its less aggressive look and creature comforts.
Ford built 891 hardtops between July 1972 and September 1973, including the construction of 129 RPO83 coupes. The GT Specials - that’s their official title - were Regular Production Option 83 on Ford’s options list for Falcon GTs.
The biggest change on the RPO83 to the normal GT was the fitting of a huge 780cfm (cubic feet per minute) four barrel Holley carburettor and (hidden away under the V-banks) fabricated exhaust extractors. These added 30-40bhp to the existing 300bhp for much improved performance. Other changes included a modified sump with additional baffles and a manual choke. They used most of the bolt-on engine components intended for the Phase IV GT-HO - the “Supercar” killed by political and public pressure before it went into production in 1972. The new model could run the quarter in the high 14s and had a top speed of around 140mph (225kph).

Item includes certificate with individual production number.
