33.00 $

This kit replicates the U.S. Navy's F-4J Phantom with precise molding, along with its various air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons. Decals are included for three aircraft from the U.S. Navy 102nd Fighter Squadron, known as the Diamondbacks. The flight of the prototype took place on May 27, 1958, and serial production began in 1961. Originally, the F-4 was intended only as a stormtrooper, but from 1955 on, the design work went towards meeting the US Navy's need for a new on-board fighter. The F-4 Phantom turned out to be a very successful machine, produced in several versions, exported to many countries and produced under license. The first versions are models from A to D intended for fighter-bombers. The next version is the F-4E, produced since 1967 as a long-range fighter. Reconnaissance versions were also created: RF-4B, RF-4C and RF-4E. The latest versions are the F-4F and F-4G Wild Weassel - these are electronic warfare planes and designed to fight the enemy radars. The F-4 took part in the Vietnam War, the conflicts in the Middle East (1967, 1973) and the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988). In total, 5,057 F-4 Phantom aircraft were built. MPM 48056 1/48 Fairey Fulmar Mk.I

18.00 $

The Fairey Fulmar

Fairey Fulmar is a British, half-shell, metal, low-wing fighter plane from the Second World War. The design of the aircraft was developed at the beginning of 1938, and the first flight of the prototype took place on January 4, 1940. When building Fairey Fulmar machines, the experience and numerous components from the fast Battle bomber of the same company were used. Despite this, the Fulmar turned out to be a machine very easy to pilot, and above all, it achieved the assumed parameters. The plane entered service in May 1940, and it was drafted in 1945. During the war, 600 Fulmar's were produced in three varieties. The first (Mk.I) is a one-man version of the on-board fighter.

The second (Mk.II) was a hunting machine adapted to operate from field airfields. Both were powered by a 1085HP Rolls-Royce Merlin VIII engine. Finally, the last version (NF. Mk.II) served as a night fighter and was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin XXX engine. During World War II, Fairey Fulmar planes fought mainly in the Mediterranean and to a small extent (as part of RAF 803 squadron) over the skies of Ceylon. From 1943, they were replaced by Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V planes, adapted to operate from aircraft carriers.

The MPM 48056 1/48 Fairey Fulmar Mk.I model kit is a full scale representation of the iconic British naval aircraft. The kit features intricate detailing to replicate the original and create a realistic, completed model for your collection.

Special Hobby 48225 1/48 AF-2 Guardian Fire Bomber

The largest single engine, piston engine aircraft to have ever been flown from the decks of aircraft carriers – yes this is the apt description of the anti-submarine AF-2 Guardian aeroplane. Following the Korea War, the Guardians were redelegated to reserve units and eventually struck off charge. Some of them, however, and mainly due to the strength of their airframe and their excellent range and payload capability, were given a new lease of life and converted to fire fighting machines which kept flying well until the 1970s.

The kit consists of seven grey styrene sprues, one with clear parts, a set of PUR parts and a fret of etches. There are also two styles of the water tanks available and the decal sheet caters for markings of a trio of machines.

Features

Limited edition

Unique version
