SAAB B-5 ‘Swedish Dive Bomber’

The Northrop A-17 was a US dive bomber aeroplane which saw service not just with the USAAF but it also proved to be an export success in the pre-war era. A low-wing monoplane of modern all metal construction was operated by many nations, it was also licence-produced in Sweden, which had required the type to be fitted with the British Mercury power plant and ski undercarriage was to be the option, too, for flying in winter conditions.

This kit has been created the same way as the original was, ie.by adapting the A-17 type. So, it contains resin parts, vacuum-formed canopy and two frets of etches (pre-coloured and a plain one) The decal sheets brings markings for three Swedish machines in various styles of camouflage patterns.

The Focke-Wulf Fw-190 is a German, single-engine, full-metal fighter aircraft with a covered cabin in the low wing design of the Second World War. The pilots considered the Fw-190 to be a better aircraft than the Messerschmitt Bf-109. A self-supporting low wing with a working Fw-190 coating was commissioned by the Luftfahrtministerium, assembled in the fall of 1937. Kurt Tank submitted two propulsion proposals - the first with a liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine, and the second with the new BMW 139 radial engine. The latter was chosen, and the work started in the spring of 1938 was headed by Obering R. Blaser. The first prototype of the Fw-190V1 was ready in May 1939, and it was flown in Bremen on June 1, 1939 by Captain Hans Sander. The second prototype, the FW-190V2, armed with two MG131 and two MG17 machine guns - all 7.92 mm caliber, was flew in October 1939. Technical data (version Fw-190A-8): length: 9m, wingspan: 10.51m, height: 3.95m, maximum speed: 656km / h, rate of climb: 15m / s, maximum range: 800km, maximum ceiling 11410m , armament: fixed-2 MG131 13mm machine guns and 4 MG151 20mm cannons (2 MG 151 / 20E cannons for the D-9 version).

Fearless Nighttime Bomber

The Avro Lancaster was one of the RAF's main heavy bombers during the WWII. The prototype flew in January 1941 which featured 4 Rolls-Royce Merlin engines on its wings. The Lancaster had a 10m long bomb bay which took up nearly half the length of its fuselage, and coupled with its strong airframe, this enabled the Lancaster to carry bombs up to 9,856kg in weight. The Mk.I was equipped with Rolls-Royce Merlin engines, and the Mk.III was equipped with Merlin engines built by Packard in America; a total of 7,377 Lancasters were produced until the end of the war. The Lancaster first saw action in March, 1942 and went on to fly as the main nighttime bomber over Germany in the latter half of the war and dropped 608,612 tons of bombs in 156,000 sorties overall. The Lancaster caused severe damage against German industrial output and contributed to the victory of the Allied Forces. The Lancaster along with the Spitfire and Mosquito can be considered as one of Britain's best aircraft of the war.
