<p>Patrol Boat, Riverine or PBR, is the United States Navy designation for a small rigid-hulled patrol boat used in the Vietnam War from March 1966 until the end of 1971. They were deployed in a force that grew to 250 boats, the most common craft in the River Patrol Force, Task Force 116, and were used to stop and search river traffic in areas such as the Mekong Delta, the Rung Sat Special Zone, the Saigon River and in I Corps, in the area assigned to Task Force Clearwater, in an attempt to disrupt weapons shipments. In this role they frequently became involved in firefights with enemy soldiers on boats and on the shore, were used to insert and extract Navy SEAL teams, and were employed by the United States Army's 458th Transportation Company, known as the 458th Seatigers</p>

<p>La Galissonnière class light cruiser is the French navy's decision to use "Emile Bertam" as the basis, combined with heavy cruiser "Algeria" protection design, at the expense of sacrificing the speed of the defense capabilities built by the World War II France Lightweight cruisers. La Galissonnière's excellent hull shape made its actual speed exceed the original design speed of 31 knots, reaching 32 knots, of which the Marseillaise Tracks had tested the speed reached 35 knots. After the outbreak of World War II, the level were assigned to join the third cruiser and the fourth cruiser team, which also laid the ship of different fate of the future class. The George Leygues of the Fourth Cruiser fleet was dispatched by the French government of Vichy to the coast of Gabon, Central Africa to counter the activities of the free French army in Central Africa but was intercepted by British cruisers and fled to Dakar Harbor. After the Allies landed in North Africa, George Leygues joined the Free French Navy in fighting the German and Italian troops. In mid-1943, George Leygues traveled to the United States for a large-scale conversion, dismantling aviation equipment and hangars to greatly enhance air defense capabilities. In the second half of 1943, the refitted George Leygues went to the Mediterranean Theater to participate in the battle. <h3>Here's an incredibly detailed model of Japan's Antarctic observation ship, the Soya.</h3> <p>This edition of Hasegawa's excellent Soya kit depicts the Observation 2nd Corps version of the ship, following up on their previous releases of the 1st and 3rd Corps versions. Also includes one DH-2 Beaver aircraft and two Sikorsky S-58 helicopters. The helicopters are cleverly molded in clear plastic, with the intricate tail framework replicated with decals. The bridge is also molded in clear. Metal rod and chain round out the realistic detailing items. </p> <p>Includes a very nice stand! A great model of an interesting and unusual subject!</p>

<p>The I-400 was a Japanese submarine whose keel was laid in 1943, launched in January 1944, and commissioned in the Imperial Japanese Navy in December 1944. At the time of launching, the ship was 122 m long, 12 m wide, and her displacement in draft was 6,560 tons. The maximum surface speed of the I-400 was 18.7 knots on the surface. The main armament at the time of the launch was 8 533 mm torpedo tubes, 1 140 mm gun and 4 25 mm cannons. The ship also had aviation equipment in the form of 3 M6A1 Seiran planes.</p> <p>I-400 was one of the largest submarines built during World War II and was one of the so-called submarine cruisers. It uses rubber plates to silence its operation and operation, and to make it difficult to detect by sonar. It was also equipped with grills, which made it possible to use internal combustion engines while submerged. The combat career of the I-400 was very short. In May 1945 it was decided to attack the Panama Canal locks, but in June the target was changed to the great US Navy anchorage on Ulithi Island, which was to be attacked on a suicide mission by I-400 planes. <p>HMS NELSON was laid down at Armstrong-Whitworth’s shipyard in Newcastle-on-Tyneon December 28th 1922, launched on September 3rd 1925, and commissioned on August 15th 1927.</p> <p>At the outbreak of World War II in September 1939, NELSON was serving as flagship of the Home Fleet. In March 1941 NELSON supported the landing raid on the Lofoten Islands, Norway, against German factories producing fish oil and glycerine. The same year NELSON transferred to the Mediterranean, taking part in one of the Malta Convoys. In November 1942, NELSON was active in the “Operation Torch” landings in French North Africa. In July 1943, NELSON supported the Allied invasion ofSicily“Operation Husky”, and the Salernolanding in September 1943. On September 29th 1943, General Dwight D Eisenhower, on behalf of the Allies, and Marshal Badoglio ofItaly signed the Italian surrender agreement aboard NELSON.</p> <p>In 1944, NELSON took part in the Normandy landings, subsequently transferring to the Indian Ocean to participate in the war on Japan in August and September 1945.
