The original Austrains PL series of carriages have been upgraded. The Austrains NEO series are based around the same 59'9" design as the original models.

We've retooled the sides to reflect another style of doorway synonymous to this type of carriage, the sliding door. At the same time we took the opportunity to remove the faux raised screw heads of the original model along the raised beading and letter board area of the car body.

We have also improved the dimensionally accuracy of the roof mounted torpedo ventilators, made some small changes to the appearance of the bogies and improved the interior seat representation.

Lastly, we have introduced an additional width underframe, with centered handbrake wheel position. This provides us with a opportunity to model specific car numbers that match the prototype and offer all new car numbers. Three distinct eras of operation are offered, all with specific annotations on the car sides.

The APL and BCPL cars use the original 8'0" wide style underframe and the BPL cars ride on a new 7'6" style of underframe with centered handbrake wheel.

The British Rail Mark 1 coaches were not suitable for higher speed rail services, with the Mark 1 coaches being a perfect compliment for steam locomotives which saw themselves being replaced by diesel and electric locomotives as the 1960s progressed. The Mark 2 coach was introduced in 1964 and was all steel. While the Mark 2 was a progression of the Mark 1, the two shared almost no common parts, and only a passing resemblance.

In service, the Mark 2 coaches were commonly seen in the BR Blue and Grey livery and Network South East colours. The coaches were mainly hauled by larger express diesel and electric locomotives such as the Class 40, 47 and 86. As of 2022, the only Mark 2 coaches still in service are those that are part of the Network rail fleet.

The Mark 2 F sub categories had plastic internal panelling with new style seats. Visually they were similar to the Mark 3 coach although there were obvious differences between the two with the length being the most notable. The coaches also had heating and air conditioning as debuted on the Mark 3 prototypes.

Specifications

In-order to allow running at 125 mph on Britain's railways, new rolling stock was needed by British Railways in order to replace the aging Mk2s. Significant improvements over the Mk2 included new secondary air suspension between the bogies and the coach body as well as aerodynamic skirting on the underframe. Mk3 Coaches are 75ft (23m) long enabling far greater capacity than older coaches. Mk3 Coaches also incorporate disk brakes and wheel slip protection enabling faster deceleration.

The first Mk3 Coaches to be delivered were used as part of the HST prototype along with the two Class 41 diesel power cars in 1972. Mk3 coaches entered service in 1975 along with the Class 43 forming the iconic InterCity 125 trainset.

Following the FirstGroup's decision to buyout their partner's shares in Great Western Holdings, a decision was made to rebrand the Great Western Trains HST units to First Great Western (FGW). Visually this change involved the fitting of a new vinyl gold strip and colour fading, as well as fitting new FGW logos. This livery was relatively short lived with FGW introducing a variety of new liveries over the next few years which were more in keeping with the First Group's other corporate liveries.

In-order to allow running at 125 mph on Britain's Victorian era railways, new rolling stock was needed by British Railways. Significant improvements over the Mk2 included new secondary air suspension between the bogies and the coach body as well as aerodynamic skirting on the underframe. Mk3 coaches are 75ft (23m) long enabling far greater capacity than older coaches. Mk3 coaches also incorporate disk breaks and wheel slip protection enabling faster deceleration.

Mk3 coaches entered service in 1975 along with the Class 43 forming the iconic InterCity 125 trainset. In the Mid-2000s the Mk3 stock belonging to the InterCity East Coast franchise, operated by GNER, received refurbishment to bring them up to the same level as the Mk4 coaches that had been refurbished as part of 'Project Mallard'. LNER inherited its fleet of Mk3 coaches in 2018 after taking over the InterCity East Coast franchise from Virgin Trains East Coast.

The introduction of Class 800 and 801 sets has seen LNER replace all its InterCity 125 sets and as a result Mk3 coaches ceased operating with LNER after a farewell tour at the end of December 2019. Nine of the fourteen HST sets transferred to East Midlands Railway.

Mk3 coaches entered service in 1975 along with the Class 43 forming the iconic InterCity 125 trainset. After the HST Mk3 coach variant was introduced, further Mk3 coaches were introduced to the West Coast Mainline for use as part of locomotive hauled trains. Whilst Mk3 stock is standard for HST units, the standard locomotive hauled stock is Mk3a. Mk3a stock differs from Mk3 stock due to the inclusion of buffers as well as a different electrical system that uses motor generator units in each coach to power air conditioning and other ancillaries Mk3a stock was built until 1984, before 3B stock with improved seating and lighting was built from 1985 to 1988.

Locomotive Services Limited (LSL) are a train operating company known for operating mainline rail tours with heritage diesel and steam locomotives. In 2017, upon being granted their certification to operate mainline charters, they became only the third company certified to operate steam locomotives on the mainline. They are also responsible for reimagining the famous Blue Pullman service, operating a specially liveried HST set with all first-class seating between London and Manchester.

Complementing our earlier Railways Of Australia Container Express (RACE) 20’ containers models are these new versions.

The L and D versions were built as a trial prior to ordering the GC and VC types. They later found usage as ICI Explosives containers for traffic around Southern NSW and into Victoria.

The NGA and NGB were later iterations of RACE containers and operated under the new Trackfast brand. Later the NGB version became ERB coded with Superpak brand.

The MSL is the NSW version of a gated curtainside container, the VSL is the Victorian version, each version has unique end detail.

Later the MSL versions became ERM coded under the Superpak brand.
