<h3>The 201 series is a commuter train that appeared in 1979. It was the first JNR train to adopt armature chopper control.</h3> <p>The front design was revamped from previous trains, with black steel panels around the front windows as an accent.</p> <p>Trains that operated on the Chuo Line were fitted with skirts and plug-in type displays, and automatic coupling and uncoupling devices were installed on the leading cars in the middle to speed up coupling and merging.</p> <p>In later years, the plug-in type displays on the leading cars at both ends of the train were replaced with illuminated type displays.</p> <p>Trains entering west of Takao were fitted with PS24 pantographs with low folding height to pass through tunnels with small cross sections. <p>The 12200 series is a limited express train of Kintetsu Railway that was introduced in 1969. Early production cars were equipped with a snack corner, just like the 12000 series, and were affectionately nicknamed "snack cars." The snack corner in the leading car was omitted from additional cars, and at the same time, production of the first middle cars for this series began. <p>The E259 series, which appeared in 2009, is a limited express train that began operation in October of the same year as the successor to the 253 series. A renewal was announced in March 2023, and the first train with a new paint scheme was released in May of the same year. <p>Class 800/0 No. 800008 was delivered to Great Western Railway (GWR) on the 7th of June 2018. <p>While Class 800 units had been in service with the LNER since May of 2019, they would not operate on the flagship Flying Scotsman service until the first of August. Set 800 104 was chosen for the occasion, being used on the 05.40 service from Edinburgh to London King's Cross. The unit would then snake its way back to Scotland from London on the 17.30 return service. For the launch a modified version of the Azuma livery was created entitled 'Celebrating Scotland', featuring a newly created LNER tartan which festooned the power car for the journey. 800 104 was also used when the Azuma service was introduced to the cities of Aberdeen on the 26th November 2019 and Inverness on the Highland Chieftain service on the 10th September 2019.</p> <p>‘Celebrating Scotland’ was designed by Ken MacDonald of Houston Kiltmakers in Paisley, the tartan colours each have a unique meaning tied into the route.
