<p>Developed during WWII, the Wespe was based upon the Pz.Kpfw.II chassis and employed the lFH18 10.5cm howitzer, which could propel 14kg rounds over distances of up to 10.6km. Some 676 Wespes were manufactured between February 1943 and July 1944, and they saw extensive use in both infantry support and anti-tank roles, from the Eastern Front across to Normandy and Italy in the West. <h3>Working for the Enemy　</h3> <p>When the German army invaded France in May 1940, they were met a small number of the monster B1 bis tank, which featured heavy firepower and thick armor protection. Armed with a 75mm howitzer in the hull and a 47mm gun in a small turret, the tank also had 60mm thick armor, making it superior to any German tank at the time. <p>The Soviet SMK was an armoured combat vehicle prototype developed prior to World War 2. It was named after Sergei Mironovich Kirov, a Communist Party official. The SMK was discovered and classified by German intelligence as the T-35C, this has led to the misunderstanding that the T-35 took part in the Russio-Finnish war. Only one was built and after a trial showing the weaknesses of its weight and size against the KV tank and brief use in the war with Finland, the project was cancelled and production never proceeded.</p>
