<p>Originally, the Kyalami 9H Endurance Skyline Turbo was build for the October 3, 1982 WEC Japan 6-hour endurance race held at Fuji Speedway. Unfortunately, the vehicle was not completed in time to enter the race, and instead first entered the 9-hour endurance Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in South Africa that November. A further setback, the car retired from the race after going off-course, and ended up retired in other races as well, typically due to heat-related trouble. Regardless, to many fans the car has remained a memorable racing Skyline.</p> <p>This kit builds the Skyline Turbo Gr. <h3>Fujimi's 1/24-scale model kit of the Celica XX is now available in a special edition commemorating the 40th anniversary of the manga "Mecha-Doc," which was serialized and animated in the 1980s!</h3> <p>The Celica XX played an active part in the first race, the Cannonball Trial. A front spoiler, side steps, and a rear under spoiler are included as exclusive parts, and the headlights can be cut out to build them as if raised. Two special stickers are included only with the 40th anniversary package version.</p>

In 1979, the grill was redesigned yet again, and each pair of headlights was now separated by a plastic divider. The 1979 Firebird became the best-selling model in the whole series. The top model was the Trans Am.
