<p>The original of all present-day vans and transporters dates back to the platformtruck used in the late 1940s for internal transport at the Volkswagen works at Wolfsburg. It inspired the Dutch importer Ben Pon with the idea of a transport vehicle. At the end of the 1940s VW developed several prototypes for a roomy vehicle suitable for transport purposes.</p>

<h3>A Modern Great</h3> <p>GT racing has captured the imagination of race fans across the world, with cutting edge cars from famed marques such as Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Audi and more. That illustrious list also includes Mercedes and the German auto giant's Mercedes-AMG GT3, developed in line with the FIA's GT3 class specs. The AMG GT production car is used as a base, and given an aluminum space frame, carbon fiber body components, a mammoth rear wing, rear diffuser, front spoiler and other racy upgrades. Power is provided by a monster 6.3-liter naturally-aspirated V8 mounted in the front. Delivery of the car began in 2016; in addition to gracing the Super GT series in Japan, the AMG GT3 has taken part in major races across the world. One of the highlights of its 2016 season was taking the Blancpain GT Series driver and team titles in HTP motorsport colors, a feat perhaps surpassed by an overwhelming display at that year's 24 Hours Nurburgring where Mercedes-AMG GT3 cars took the top four places.</p> <p>This scale model assembly kit recreates the 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT3 race car. It is a GT3 class spec customer sports car that was converted from the AMG GT road car by the Mercedes-AMG high performance division.</p> <p>The full-size racer features a reliable and powerful 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine harnessing 558hp. Its carbon fiber body overhauls the road car version and has a prominent grille inspired by the classic 300 SL. The race car is also fitted with racing essentials such as a large rear wing, air intakes, splitter, canards and diffusers contributing to its aerodynamics. <h3>A new era has begun</h3> <p>As the 2nd generation Celica XX, the A60 series was released in July 1981 as a full model change from the previous A40/50. Maintaining its overall design concept, a retractable headlight was incorporated. As a result, aerodynamics was improved with Cd of 0.35.</p> <p>This kit replicates the Celica XX in its catalog specifications. The kit is selectable between grades 2800GT, 2000GT TWINCAM24, and 2000G-turbo.
