<h3>Equipped for every challenge</h3> <p>The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is a truly challenging race for all drivers. The 20-kilometre uphill course navigates no fewer than 156 bends. Between the foot of the mountain and the summit at an altitude of over 4000 metres there are immense differences in temperature, aerodynamics and the engine’s air induction capacity – challenges the Porsche 935 GT2 mastered with ease. The US American racing driver, photographer and film-maker Jeff Zwart entered the Pikes Peak race in the Porsche, saying it was the most comfortable car he had ever driven. <p>Despite its somewhat limited load carrying ability, a number of different Police forces used the XJS for brief amounts of time in trails to test its effectiveness as a motorway patrol vehicle. One such police force was Warwickshire Constabulary who trialed this particular machine on the M6 during the early 1980s.</p> <p>However, it was not a machine they then used operationally after this time! <p>The Lotus Esprit S1 is known for its polygonal ‘folded paper’ like design but was ultimately made famous when it was driven by MI6 Special Agent 007 James Bond in the 1977 hit movie ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ starring Roger Moore as Bond.
