Authentic Collectables ACD18F21J 1/18 Shell V-Power Racing Team No.17 Ford Mustang GT 2021 Merlin Darwin Triple Crown Indigenous Livery Driver Will Davidson

There's no doubt that the now very familiar, perhaps iconic, Shell V-Power livery raced by the team over the past five years looks fantastic but it was very refreshing to see a big change when the team unveiled a spectacular one-off indigenous livery on both their Ford Mustangs for the 2021 Darwin Triple Crown.

Dedicated to Racing Together, a programme designed to give 12-to-18-year-old Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders an opportunity to pursue a career in motorsport as a driver or a member of a race team, the impressive livery was designed by Braedyn Cidoni who is a Racing Together team member. Also an aspiring driver for Racing Together, Cidoni's design was inspired by the artwork of Allison Millcock and the result looked exceptional on the sides of the #11 and #17 Shell V-Power Mustangs.

When car 17 finally hit the track in anger in the Top End, Will Davison had polar opposite days over the race weekend. Saturday simply didn't go to plan, a poor qualifying performance in slippery track conditions saw Davison start from 24th position to battle his way up to finish 14th.

Sunday however, went almost perfectly. Davison's qualifying dramas the day before vanished as he set two blistering record laps to start from Pole for both the Sunday races to ultimately close the weekend with double podiums, finishing in 2nd place on both occasions.

Car 17's trip to Darwin was ultimately a successful one and the indigenous livery was received with tremendous respect and fanfare.

Don’t miss this model which has been produced by Authentic Collectables in high quality die-cast with detailed interior and fully opening parts in a limited edition of 702 with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity. With many fans sending us messages requesting this livery to be replicated in scale model form, it's sure to be a popular addition to collections for fans of the Shell V-Power Racing Team.

The Holden Racing Team without doubt holds a special place in the heart of many red-blooded Australian motorsport fans.

From 1989 to 2016, HRT raced a variety of famous Commodores across Australia and on occasion, internationally. With the iconic Holden lion and helmet motif ever evolving and sprawling down the sides of their cars, they were the all conquering, unmistakable Holden factory team for a long time and boast a storied history.

Part of that history includes the time the team, along with the entire V8 Supercars category, visited the United States of America to hold their first (and only) championship round in the country at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas for the Austin 400.

To celebrate the milestone round in the USA, HRT updated their #2 and #22 VF Commodores driven by Garth Tander and James Courtney to feature an 'Aussie-Made' livery which incorporated the Australian flag on both the roof and rear quarter panels of both cars which combined perfectly with their striking season livery.

The team was there to 'fly the flag' for Australia and show America the power of the then new VF Commodore which would soon be exported to the USA. Holden's VF Commodore in fact dominated the Austin 400, winning all four races across the round.

The HRT cars weren't on the winners sheet that weekend, however, this livery certainly looked like a winner and we're excited to finally be replicating these cars in scale model form.

Both the #2 and #22 models have been produced in high quality sealed body die-cast with clear windows, detailed interiors and will be presented in a clear acrylic display case featuring presentation finishing in an exclusive limited edition of 234 with an individually numbered graphic base.

Our 1:43 Twinsets are really special collectors items and look incredible and this one will be no exception. It's a must have for fans of Holden, this iconic team and 1:43 scale collectors.

Classic Carlectables 18683 1/18 Holden HQ GTS Monaro Azure Blue

When the two door Holden HQ GTS Monaro was released to the Australian motoring public in July 1971 it proved incredibly popular, being an all new design, the fourth all new Holden body produced in ten years. With the confidence of almost a quarter of a million of the much loved HQ range already on the road, Holden released the four door GTS version in April 1973. The monocoque construction and all new four-wheel coil spring suspension provided superior ride and handling and delivered a smoother, safer, more elegant car than any previous Holden.

Praised for its advanced features and individual styling, the HQ range represented a more sophisticated design direction for Australian made cars, while delivering the rugged durability and family-size roominess expected by Holden buyers. The HQ was the largest selling model range to date for Holden and would ensure Holden's title of Australia's No. I car manufacturer. The HQ became an automotive icon of the period.
