Authentic Collectables ACR18MRSB 1/18 Ford Mustang R-SPEC Twister Orange

78.00 $

When Ford introduced the Mustang in Australia at the end of 2015, it was the first factory made right-hand-drive version in its 50-year history and Aussie fans responded in epic fashion with Ford bosses stunned at the sales success.

Over the years, the thirst for more specialised and high performance Mustangs over the regularly available options increased, but much to Australian fans disappointment, unique American options like the Shelby GT350R and Shelby GT500 never made it to our shores.

With the gap in the market overwhelmingly obvious, local Ford Performance master and Mustang tuner Rob Herrod from Herrod Performance joined forces with Ford Australia to collaborate on and produce a unique, specialised performance Mustang for Aussie enthusiasts.

What they came up with was the spectacular Mustang R-SPEC, the first supercharged edition of Australia’s best-selling sports car.

The R-SPEC was dubbed the most potent, performance-focused Mustang ever available in Australia from local Ford dealers. It was powered by a Ford Performance Supercharged 5.0L V8, with every edition featuring an individually numbered build plate and styled with unique black exterior treatment, R-SPEC specific alloys and a one-off boot lid spoiler. It was available in four different colour schemes and only 500 units were built.

The R-SPEC is a really amazing version of the iconic Mustang with an Australian twist and we’re excited to be producing it for collectors in scale model form in the bold Twister Orange colour scheme which follows on from our previous Grabber Lime, Velocity Blue and Oxford White editions.

This model has been produced in sealed body format with clear windows and detailed interior in a limited edition of 204 with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed and endorsed by the man behind the machine, Rob Herrod.

Features

1:18 Scale Ford Mustang R-SPEC - Twister Orange

Sealed body resin with clear windows and detailed interior

204 - Model includes numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by Rob Herrod

Classic Carlectables 18763 1/18 Ford Mustang GT 1985 ATCC 2nd Place

124.00 $

The 1985 Australian Touring Car Championship was the first series to run under international Group A rules. There wasn’t a single Australian built car to contest the first round of the Australian Championship.
Unfortunately the Mustangs cooling system was built for more moderate European climates, as a result Johnson wasn’t able to finish the first round in Winton due to the heat. Johnson had to make multiple stops to prevent engine damage, he ended up parking the Mustang resulting in a DNF for the first race.
Although this was a very worrying start to the Championship this was Johnsons only DNF for the whole season. Johnson racked up 9 solid finishes coming second in Symmons Plains, Calder, Lakeside and Oran Park. Placed third in Sandown, Wanneroo, and Adelaide and one 4th place in Surfers Paradise.
The series ended with Johnson finishing second place with 192 points based off his best 9 races out of 10. By the conclusion of the Australian Touring Car Championship, Johnsons Mustang was known for its consistency and the persistent threat that it posed on Jim Richards.

Features

The model is accurately detailed, the cowl panel features a finely molded vent, twin antennas, bonnet scoop and kill switch.

Behind the Mustang wheel rims are slotted disc brakes on all four wheels.

The left hand drive Mustang has the interior stripped out with full roll cage. The chassis pressing, switch box and pedals are well presented.

The drivers racing seat features soft padding and racing harness with individual buckles.

The 5.0L V8 breathes from twin snorkels attached to the side walls of the engine bay. Opening the bonnet is aided by a bonnet release button on the chassis.

From below the detail continues with metal springs used on the suspension. The steering wheel is linked to the front wheels for extra realism.

The highly detailed rear chassis features air jacks, fuel tank, suspension setup and differential.

The chassis bears an individually numbered etched metal plate which is the edition number of your model.
