To create a world-class super sportscar in the R35 GT-R, Nissan established a project team based at Germany’s Nürburgring consisting of a specialized development team that reported directly to the CEO. The incredible 485ps power output was harnessed and controlled with a combination of body, chassis, and innovation in electronic control components. The R35 emerged as a multi-faceted supercar that allows high performance to be experienced and enjoyed anytime and anywhere. Have a quiet conversation at 300km/h or drive on snow with all-season tires! With performance that set new benchmarks and broke the framework of Japanese sportscars, the R35 also maintained a year-model system with the aim of incorporating detailed improvements every year to deliver the pinnacle of driving pleasure while maintaining world-class performance. In 2019, twelve years after the first production, the adoption of turbocharger technology was announced (amongst other NISMO enhancements) in both the 2020 NISMO and standard models to deliver improved response. The gear shift schedule was also changed to aggressively select higher gears and a revised suspension setting adopted to deliver more from the existing technology and raise the level of road-going sports driving.

Kyosho 18054GR-B 1/18 Nissan GT-R NISMO 2022 Gray

NISMO is the master of R35 GT-R circuit racing. With a unique range of specifications on the 2022 model the Nissan GT-R Special Edition joins the already formidable GT-R line-up. Starting with the circuit-surface color of ‘NISMO Stealth Gray’ chosen by half of GT-R owners, other components including precision lightweight moving parts such as piston rings / valve springs / crank shafts / conrods etc. have been matched to the VR38DETT engine (with its special red colored ‘Takumi Plate’ on the front). Instead of standard paint, the engine hood is clear-painted in dry carbon to match the aluminum wheel rims with red lines for easy identification of the Limited Edition. The pre-release on 14 April 2022 was met with a rush of orders and when the price was announced on 5 August, the planned production volume of 300 units was fully sold and orders no longer accepted. The high level of interest brought the popularity of the GT-R to the attention of the wider world. The solid gray color scheme without pearlescence creates a formidable impression with even greater visual impact from the carbon parts and aerodynamic body of the R35 GT-R NISMO. The beautifully balanced engine runs smoothly all the way to the top with 50% lower tolerance. With a body and suspension that has been refined over 15 years, the intense yet mature ride of the GT-R ensures it will be cherished as a collectors model for many years to come.
