<p>The Convair F-106 "Triangle Javelin" interceptor is considered one of the best interceptors in the history of the US Air Force. It has served the US Air Force since the 1960s until the 1980s. In more than 29 years of service, it has been the main all-weather interceptor of the US Air Force and the US Air National Guard. It is the main "dance partner" of the Russian Tu-95 "Bear" strategic bomber.</p> <p>The F-106 "Triangle Javelin" was developed by the Convair F-102 "Triangle Dagger" series of interceptors, and its equipped Pratt &amp; Whitney J-75-P-17 engine provides even more powerful power. So that it can reach the extreme speed of 2 Mach. The new size of the new engine also means an increase in the size of the aircraft. The bomb compartment below the belly can accommodate four AIM-4 "Falcon" air-to-air missiles and one AIR-2 rocket. The F-106 prototype first flew on December 26, 1956, and began service in June 1959. <p>The TU-142MR was a further modification of the Tu-142M The prototype Tu-142MR 'Bear-J' was based on the airframe of the Tu-142MK, and used for submarine communication relay, allowing national command authorities and strategic missile-carrying submarines to communicate. The under fuselage search radar has been removed, and the aircraft is equipped with an under fuselage winch pod for a several kilometer long trailing wire antenna. It has a communications antenna in a spike fairing that project forward from the fin tip, and a trailing wire antenna (and associated winch package) located below the belly. Production Tu-142MRs are more like the Tu-142M-Z, with an under nose sensor package and ECM system antennas underneath the rear fuselage. Unlike all the other maritime 'Bears,' the production Tu-142MR has a solid radome in place of the usual nose glazing where a limited-range search/weather radar is probably housed to compensate for the lack of a Korshun system. Only a small number of Tu-142MRs were produced, and the prototype was delivered to the 76th Regiment along with early production aircraft.</p>
