Modelsvit 72027 1/72 I-7U Supersonic Interceptor Prototype

25.00 $

In the beginning of 1956, the “OKB-155”( Mikoyan-and-Gurevich ) Design Bureau began developing new supersonic interceptor under designation I-7U. Soviet designers had an intention to develop two versions of the plane: I-7U, having cannons armament and I-7K - armored with rockets only.

The initial design of I-7U was completed in July 1956. As a result, the plane received mid-mounted 55° swept wing, fuselage with circular cross-section, single-seat pressurized cockpit, adjustable cone inlet at the front the fuselage accommodating radar antenna, adjustable horizontal stabilizer and 2 additional airbrakes under the fuselage, just in front of the wing roots. The armament consisted of two NR-30 cannons, located in the wing roots. Powered by Lyulka AL-7F engine with nominal thrust of 6300 kg and 10,000 kg with afterburning, the aircraft was supposed to reach 2M airspeed.

The I-7U’s maiden flight took place on April 22, 1957 with K. Mosolov on the controls. On June 1957, the sole prototype I-7U suffered damage as a result of the starboard undercarriage leg failing when the aircraft landed following its 13th flight. After repair, the test program was resumed, but involved only six more flights till the February1958, when the project was terminated by the Chief Designer due to the unsatisfying flying performance.

I-7U and I-3U interceptors became first planes of the new “Heavy MiG’s” family.

Hasegawa 19156 1/48 Aichi D3A1 Type 99 Dive bomber Val Midway Island

19.00 $

In 1936, the Japanese Navy ordered Aichi, Nakajima, and Mitsubishi to build a prototype of the No. 11 Carrier Bomber . However, Mitsubishi abandoned development midway, so Aichi and Nakajima competed to develop a prototype.

Aichi developed an all-metal low-wing monoplane with aerodynamically superior elliptical tapered wing planform for the main and tail wings, fixed main landing gear for practicality's sake, and dive brake pads on the underside of the main wings. The prototype made its first flight in 1938.

This decal variation of Hasegawa's fine 1/48 Val kit includes markings for the plane as it appeared on the carriers Akagi and Kaga during the Battle of Midway.

Comes with new bomb parts.

Hobby 2000 48010 1/48 Arado 234 B-2 End of War

29.00 $

One of the most pioneering aviation structures at the end of World War II.

At the beginning of the war, the Luftwaffe did not give priority to the creation of jet machines, which changed in 1941 when Erhard Milch became its Inspector General. The first prototypes in the reconnaissance version (Ar 234 V-1) were flown in the summer of 1943, and in the bomber version (Ar 234 V-9) in March 1944. Mass production started the same year, and by the end of the war, 238 units were produced.

The drive of the serial versions was the Jumo 004 B-1 engine. Several versions of the aircraft were produced, including the B-2 / N version was equipped with a radar and used to locate and intercept Allied bombers during night raids. The Ar-234 aircraft was one of the most technologically advanced Luftwaffe machines at the end of the war.

Particularly noteworthy are the Jumo 004 B-1 engines and excellent RF2C periscope sights. Thanks to its fantastic performance and maneuverability, the AR 234 was extremely difficult to knock down for all Allied machines. After 1945, the captured single copies were subjected to intensive testing by all the victorious powers.

Special Hobby 72395 1/72 Republic F-84F Thunderstreak

18.00 $

The first batch of SH72395 model kit is long sold out and due to huge demand and the orders still coming, we had to decide to prepare a re-edition of this excellent model as soon as possible. Kit no.SH72395 brings three USAF machine options, two of which saw service overseas in the UK and the third one flew over the USA. The kit is superbly detailed, offers the option to have the canopy hood either open or closed and the four styrene sprues also contain wide variety of underwing ordnance.

The F-84F Thunderstreak swept-wing jet fighter was a development of the Republic F-84G straight wing aircraft. Using a wing with the sweep along with a more powerful jet engine improved the performance to that of the F-86 Sabre. At first, the F-84F experienced several trouble with their power units, maneuverability as well as with corrosion. Later, after the outbreak of the Berlin Crisis and subsequent need to make the NATO forces more powerful, the F-84F jets started to equip many NATO air forces, including that of Germany and France, while earlier these planes were used mainly by the USAF and US Guard units. The first combat deployment the F-84F saw was during the Suez Crisis and the only air victories gained by the type were acieved by Turkish machines taking on Iraqi Il-28 bombers violating the Turkish air space.

Features

Highly Detailed Model

Excellent Fit

Striking Schemes And Decals

Pre-cut Paint Masks Sold Separately

Accessories Sets Currently Being Developed
