Trumpeter 02855 1/48 Russian MIG 23ml Flogger G

30.00 $

The MiG-23 was designed in 1964-66 as a successor to the MiG-21. In addition to installing a larger thrust engine, the most important new feature of the MiG-23 is the use of variable swept wings. Similar to the U.S. Air Force F-111, the swept angle of the wings can be changed during flight. When the wing sweep angle is the smallest, it can have a short takeoff and landing distance while carrying the largest ammunition. When the wings are completely swept back, a higher flying speed can be obtained. The wing has three sweep angles to choose from: 16 degrees, 45 degrees and 72 degrees. The MiG-23 prototype flew for the first time in April 1967, and the MiG-23 series entered service in 1971.
